Proposed Amendment to Noise Ordinance
Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Cambridge as follows:
In Chapter 8.16 of the Cambridge Municipal Code (NOISE CONTROL), amend § 8.16.080 (Non-Measured noise disturbances) by revising Paragraph B to read as follows:
B. Radios, Phonographs, Stereos, Sound Systems, etc. The playing, using, operating, or permitting to be played, used or operated any radio receiving set, musical instrument, phonograph, stereo or sound system in an automobile or other vehicle, loudspeaker or public address system, unless used by the City of Cambridge, or other machine or device for the producing or reproducing of sound in such a manner as to be plainly audible at a distance of fifty (50) feet from the building, structure, automobile, vehicle or dwelling unit in which it is located, played, used or operated.
